Perfume as Practice SS16 housed 25 unique and varied perfume portraits at Bank Street Arts, Sheffield, from 3rd-18th March 2016. Each fragrance served as a portrait of another artist based on their response to the question ‘Why do you make art?’

Each bottle comprised 14 drops of each essential oil note in a 48ml alcohol and spring water carrier. Each bottle was visually embellished, further extending the notion that each perfume served as a portrait capturing the unique personas of artists:

Further visual elements also existed within the space. Describing and enhancing the collection. As this was my first collection, the theme simply alluded to the fact that I was initiating my concern with perfume, scent and portraiture:
